CannyBill offers several email marketing methods, to help you advetise and promote your business online. You can target existing customers with newsletters and lead lists, and attract new customers by importing your existing customer / contact base. You can also link your CannyBill account in with a Campaign Monitor account, to harness the advanced e-marketing tools it provides.

Lead Lists provide a way to target specific customer demographic, based on their buying history. Target customers who have or importantly have not purchased a certain product within a certain timeframe to advertise promotions, new products, services etc. Of course, this demographic can be as broad or as narrow as you like, depending on the subject of your promotion.

Lead lists must be built and added to your Marketing department before they can be sent.

Hint: You can set your lead lists up in advance - very handy for forward-thinking CannyBill users. You can set up a 'Winter Sale' lead list in advance, and have it ready to send when the time comes.

Create a Lead List

To create a Lead List, hit the Create Lead List link at the top of the Marketing page. This will take you to the Lead List Builder. You have two main options in the Lead List Builder:

  1. Send to All Customers will send the the marketing campaign you create to every registered customer you currently have in your account. This is best suited for advertising larger, or more broad promotions and news items, such as a store-wide sale, important news or updates.
  2. To specify a customer demographic, you can choose to Create a Lead List. Based on the criteria you set, the marketing campaign will only be sent to a select range of customers.

Setting up the Lead list

  1. First, you must choose an Order Group from the list. This wil display a list of Packages which currently reside within that order Group.
  2. Highlight the Packages which you would like to be added to your Lead List, and choose a Date Range. You can specify wether you would like to target the customers who either have or haven't purchased the selected Package by clicking the appropriate option.
  3. Click the Add Selected Package(s) button to add your selection to the Lead List. You will see your selection added in the table below. You can now repeat this process and add as many customers to your lead list as you want.
  4. Once you have added the desired packages to the Lead List, click the Write Lead list button to wite your email content.

After having created your email campaign you can now click the Send Now button to send it.
